Sugar beet (strip-till)

Sugar beet, sown in 45 cm rows, occupies about 22% of the field area. This raises a logical question: is inter-row tillage really necessary?


Strip-till technology creates optimal conditions for the development of the beet, with the primary goal being the formation of a strong root system. Fertilizer applied directly under the row increases nutrient efficiency, while spring fertilization encourages deeper root growth.

The use of universal chisels, 60 mm wide and working at depths up to 35 cm, effectively loosens and aerates the soil. As a result, the treated strip warms up faster, promoting vigorous early plant growth.

Thanks to Czajkowski ST technology, plants develop a powerful root mass without lifting the root above the soil surface. This minimizes losses during harvest, especially at field edges, where the beet remains well anchored.

Meanwhile, the remaining 80% of the field, covered with mulch, serves as a water reservoir, reducing evaporation. The unprocessed inter-row zones maintain a stable structure with higher load-bearing capacity. This becomes crucial in wet autumn conditions, reducing rutting and soil compaction during harvest.
