The first rapeseed demonstration sowing of 2026 in the Khmelnytskyi region using Strip-Till technology

In August 2026, the team at ‘TPK ‘Tekhno-Dvir’ LLC’ began a new phase of rapeseed demonstration sowings. The first demonstration sowing of the season in the Khmelnytskyi region was carried out using Strip-Till technology and Czajkowski machinery.

The field work was carried out using the Czajkowski STK 400 9R Strip-Till unit for strip tillage, fitted with the Czajkowski PS 400 9R seed drill attachment.

Strip-Till: several operations in a single pass

The key feature of Strip-Till technology is that not the entire field area is tilled, but only the strips where the seeds will be placed and the plant’s root system will subsequently develop. The inter-rows remain untilled.

The Czajkowski STK 400 9R unit allows several important operations to be combined into a single working process:

- strip tillage and soil loosening;

- managing crop residues in the area of the future row;

- localised fertiliser application;

- preparation of the sowing strip;

- sowing in combination with a suitable seed drill attachment.

In this demonstration sowing, the unit worked in conjunction with the Czajkowski PS 400 9R, which enabled rapeseed to be sown directly into the prepared strips.

Why are demonstration sowings so important?

It is in the field that one can assess the machine’s performance in working the soil and crop residues, the consistency of the set depth, fertiliser application and the operation of the seeding system.

The next stage is no less important – monitoring the field after sowing. The emergence of seedlings, their uniformity, and the development of the plants and root system enable a comprehensive assessment of the results of the technology used.

Czajkowski STK 400 9R + PS 400 9R

The combination of the Czajkowski STK 400 9R strip-till unit with the PS 400 9R seed drill attachment provides a comprehensive solution for farms seeking to reduce the number of separate field operations and transition to strip-till technology.

A particularly significant advantage is that this technology allows work to be carried out only on the section of soil where the future crop row will be formed, leaving the rest of the field surface untouched by full tillage.

The first demonstration sowing of rapeseed in the Khmelnytskyi region marked the start of Czajkowski’s series of field trials for the 2026 season.
